Grade 7 Electric Component

Joint:
Joint is an electric component used for connecting electric wire. electricity is supplied to different rooms via joint.
Consideration:
1. Wire should be inserted properly and covered with tape.
2. The wires should be checked to ensure that there is no leakage.
3. if there is leakage of electricity, a technician should be called immediately.

Socket plug:
Socket plug is an electric component that is used for the supply of electricity to different rooms. a normal socket used in house has switch, indicator and plug.
1. a socket plug should never be placed in a wet place.
2. it should be kept far from the reach of children.
3. iron, wire should not be touched with a plug.

Electric wire:
Electric wire is made from copper or aluminium. It is used for supplying electricity from one place to another. electric wire enables the supply of electricity to switch and electri equipment such as fan, cooker, iron, heater etc.
Consideration:
1. Insure that wire is not damaged.
2. Always use insulated wire.
3. Do not use with bare and wet hand.

Volt Guard:
Volt guard is an electric component that saves electric equipment from high power. it helps to supply the right voltage of electricity. It has an indicator that shows the degree of electric supply.

Bulb:
A bulb is an electric component that is used to generate light through electricity. The normal bulb consists of filament from where light is generated. different types of bulb are tube light, CFL, LED, etc.  The electricity bulb should not be touched when it is on.

Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB)
MCB is an electric device that is used to save the short circuit of electricity. it is used as fude. it automatically cuts electricity when the electric voltage is very high.
