Cottage Industry refers to the small scale industry that uses local resources and manpower to produce goods that caters the needs of local community. For e.g. Weaving cloth, carpet, various kind of metal works. Most of the cottage industries are established on the leadership of local people and community. They are not mass produced and can't compete with large scale industry.
